Members of the CCG’s Joint Committee met on Thursday 10 August and agreed to  go out to consultation with a preferred option that will see Planned Care at the  Princess Royal Hospital and the Emergency Care Centre & Women & Childrens Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury.

The threat to services at the PRH is perhaps now stronger than ever. The CCGs agreed to move forward with a consultation with a preferred option that would see:

We believe moving services makes no sense. 

The £28 million Women & Children’s Centre opened only three years ago and Telford was chosen because clinically this was the best location. Telford and Wrekin is one of the fastest growing areas in the region and retaining full A&E services is also vital.
