December 2012 my husband, a fit active vicar had a stroke. PRH staff quickly rescued the situation and one month later he was discharged. Within 12 hours he suffered a catastrophic stroke, re-admitted to PRH where he stayed for twelve weeks. There was no getting better this time. He died in August 2013. One week after the second admission he had a huge bleed, all our six kids were quickly at his bedside. Our youngest daughter went into premature labour, at 26 weeks. Staff in maternity acted quickly, recognising the emergency and blue lighted her to RSH where the staff saved the baby, now in full time school, and worked hard with our daughter who had a nasty infection. Thanks to SATH the outcome was manageable and not as devastating as it might have been
