Laura Watson

In December 2016 I gave birth to my youngest son Arlo, almost 4 months prematurely, weighing just 1.6lb. At 7 weeks old, whilst on the neonatal unit at PRH, he developed a life threatening condition called Necrotising Enterocolitis and went into septic shock. He was quickly placed on life support and the dedicated neonatal team spent the next 24 hours battling to stabilise him enough for transfer to BCH where, weighing just 2lb, he underwent life saving surgery. It was almost 3 months before he was well enough to return to PRH and when he did it made a huge difference to our family. Being able to go home to my older children (5 & 2) every night and know my baby was being very well cared for just down the road was amazing. Now 8 months old, he spent his first 7.5 months in 5 hospitals across the Midlands and the care he received, and continues to receive, at PRH Shropshire Women & Childrens Centre has been second to none. Thank you PRH. #LovePRH #SaveOurServices #PRH4ME
